Where To Find Every Material Crate In Marvel’s Wolverine

One of the best things about Marvel’s Wolverine is the wide variety of costumes and outfits from comics and movies that Insomniac Games has included, from comic deep cuts to iconic Logan looks. Just like in Spider-Man, unlocking these outfits requires a bit of work from the player, as Logan will need to find Material Crates to be able to craft them. Here's everything you need to know. What Are Material Crates Material Crates are the most common collectible in Wolverine, as nearly every level in the game has more than a few of them to find. Unlocking the crates will reward Logan with 50 materials that he can use to purchase (or rather, craft) outfits and their respective claws. It’s basically Wolverine’s version of Spider-Man’s tokens, albeit on a more linear scale. Luckily, finding Material Crates in Wolverine is made pretty easy thanks to Logan’s enhanced senses. Logan will tune in to the crate’s specific clicking noises and make them much easier to hunt down by marking them with a blue outline and occasionally commenting on one being around. Here’s where to find every single one in Marvel’s Wolverine. Material Crates are introduced early on in Wolverine’s story during Homecoming, so the first two are completely unmissable. The One Who Got Away Material Crate 1 The first optional Material Crate in the whole game can be found as you enter the sawdust mill while following Jean’s trail. Right where you encounter some enemies, turn to the left and break the wooden crates to find the first Material Crate. Material Crate 2 The next Material Crate of this level can be found a little further on in the level in Leech’s Lair. Once you’re in the young mutant’s home base, look for a recorder. Turn right around once you find it to easily spot the Material Crate. Material Crate 3 The One Who Got Away’s third Material Crate can be found directly after the level’s only Nightmare Door, which is impossible to miss. Go right and up the river from the door’s location to find the crate sitting next to a painting. Material Crate 4 The fourth and final Material Crate of this level is the trickiest of the game so far. After getting to the docks, use a rope to climb up to the top of the crane. The Crate can be found on a platform on the other crane. Raise Some Hell Material Crate 1 You can find the first Material Crate of this level very early on. After you defeat the first wave of enemies right at the start, look to the left of the next arena filled with enemies. You’ll see the crate on a little cliff platform. Material Crate 2 In the very same area, stay on the ground level and head to the gap between the two cliffs on the right. The second Material Crate can be found at the end of that path. Material Crate 3 Once again, the level’s next Material Crate isn’t very far away. A little bit on in the level, Logan will walk out of a derelict building and into an area with a big crane-like structure and some trucks. Stick to the left, and you’ll find the Crate sneakily tucked away in a corner. Material Crate 4 The fourth and final Material Crate in Raise Some Hell is located near a bunch of other collectibles. After unlocking “hot claws” and leaving the building, you’ll be in a courtyard. Head to the right to find a truck with the crate resting within it. Strays Material Crate 1 Head towards Walter’s lab as you’re searching for Leech’s pictures. From here, keep going forward into the locker room, and you’ll find this level’s only Material Crate. Something Much Stronger Material Crate 1 As you make your way into the wilderness, you’ll pass some targets that Mystique has been using for firing practice. Look to the right as you reach a more open area, and you’ll see the crate that you’ll need to platform a bit to reach. Material Crate 2 Early on in the level, you’ll find a wolf that’s trapped and free it. Once you’ve done so, follow it for a bit until Logan tells it to drink up. When he does this, look to the left to find the crate a little off the beaten path. Material Crate 3 Keep on following the wolf until you start going uphill. Reach the top of the hill and then turn to the right to see the third Material Crate sitting by a fishing hut that Logan will comment on. Material Crate 4 The final Material Crate of this level is found once you reach Logan’s cabin. As soon as you get here, head to the right to find the crate. Knock Knock Material Crate 1 After you and Sabretooth smash a hole in the wall using a truck, the level’s first crate can be found behind the desk on the other side. Material Crate 2 Later on in the level, Logan and Sabretooth will take an elevator down into the building. Kill all of the enemies in the first room, and move forward. You’ll see a vent you can cut open in the next room, which will lead you to the crate. Mutant Detected Material Crate 1 As soon as you enter the building at the start of the level, look behind the desk to find this first crate. Material Crate 2 Early on in the level, Logan and Mystique will team up to take out a bunch of Trask soldiers in a circular room, with stealth clearly being set up as the main method. Once everyone is dispatched, head into the next room, and you’ll see the crate on your right. Material Crate 3 After Mystique and Logan see a satellite showing all of the world’s mutants, go through the next door and stick to the left. You’ll see a door that needs a code (0921) to open, and the Material Crate is waiting on the other side. Material Crate 4 Fairly late into the chapter, Logan will be forced to go up against a massive turbine for a big setpiece moment. As soon as you make it to the other side, look to your left to find the fourth and final crate of this level. One Last Mission Material Crate 1 The chapter’s first Material Crate is an easy one, as it’s found in a room behind the bar right at the start. Material Crate 2 After leaving the Princess Bar to go after Jean, head to the right and follow that path to the end of the road. Once you reach the end, head left and down the stairs to find this Material Crate. Material Crate 3 Towards the end of the level, you’ll chase The Hand and end up at the docks. Clear out the first set of enemies that attack you, and then stick to the left to find some stairs near the water that lead to the level’s final Material Crate. Get Angry Material Crate 1 The first Material Crate of this chapter can be found pretty early on. After you reach a fire truck and get tasked with investigating sound sources to find Jean, one of the noises will be a Material Crate in an alleyway. Material Crate 2 Once you take an elevator to reach The Hand’s hideout, take the first corner on the right to find the second crate. Material Crate 3 After you’re introduced to incense burners, you’ll be trapped in a looping room and have to break them all to escape. Once you do, head right before jumping down and you’ll find the Material Crate next to some wooden boxes. Material Crate 4 In the underground cave a bit later in the level, Jean will fly ahead after finding some chained-up mutant corpses. Climb to the top of the bridge and then turn around to find this crate on the other side. This one can be a little tricky since The Hand will ambush you at the top of the bridge, so just make sure you don’t forget to turn around. Material Crate 5 Towards the end of the chapter, you’ll reunite with Jean and take an elevator up. The final Material Crate can be found behind a bunch of metal shelves in another room. Bad Blood Material Crate 1 A bit into Logan and Jean’s climb, you’ll reach a construction site and a platform that moves the chapter along. Don’t jump into that, as the Material Crate is found right next to it, by some wooden boxes. Material Crate 2 After you reach Shiro’s building, you’ll need to climb the nearby construction to get in. Shortly into the climb, you’ll see the Material Crate on one of the platforms. Material Crate 3 A little further into that climb, Logan will kick down a door to reach a new area. As soon as you get there, go forward and jump down to find the third Material Crate. Material Crate 4 This is one of the most clever Material Crates in the game. When Jean levitates a platform for Logan to get into Shiro’s house, don’t jump to the building. Instead, turn back to the construction site to see the crate hiding behind a fence. In The Shadows Material Crate 1 After you reach the arcade, head all the way downstairs instead of going into the main room to find the chapter’s first Material Crate. Material Crate 2 Once Logan splits up with Jean, you’ll be able to explore the city and roam around a bit. Get up to the rooftops by climbing a pipe and you’ll find the second Material Crate opposite a sign reading Shinjuku Korode. Material Crate 3 Close to Shiro’s house, you can climb a white pipe and find this Material Crate waiting for you at the top. Material Crate 4 Head up to the rooftops once again and look for the big Devil Dinosaur statue. The fourth Material Crate can be found on a building right next to it. Material Crate 5 After you ride a food delivery truck to a construction site a bit into the chapter, head to the left instead of going in and fighting The Hand. The Material Crate is just to the left of the site as one of the trickier collectibles in the whole game. Material Crate 6 Once you reach the underground section of The Hand’s third base, this Material Crate can be found to the left of a big banner. Material Crate 7 Towards the end of the chapter, you’ll fight an enemy called The Fire. Defeat him and Logan will make his way to a rooftop. Take the zipwire from there, and you’ll see the Material Crate on the very next building. Death Comes To Death Material Crate 1 At the start of the chapter, immediately look to your left to find the first Material Crate on the same building as Logan. Material Crate 2 After watching the cameras and finding the Helix Engine, go downstairs and you’ll see this Material Crate on the right after you crouch under a pipe. Material Crate 3 A little bit into the chapter, you’ll fight a bunch of enemies in a steam room. Clear that room out and break the rock to move forward until you reach an elevator. To the right is the final Material Crate of the chapter. We Were Wrong Material Crate 1 Early on in the mission as you walk down the street and Logan points out people are scared, you can find this Material Crate behind an Alchemax truck. Material Crate 2 Once you get into the building with The Hand and clear them out, you can find the second Material Crate waiting on a platform opposite the walkway. Material Crate 3 After being ambushed by the new smoke enemies, go to the left instead of forward to find the Material Crate tucked away. Material Crate 4 A little later in the chapter, you’ll find yourself outside a big warehouse. The Material Crate is on the left side of the warehouse behind some wooden boxes. Material Crate 5 After getting ambushed in the warehouse and clearing out the enemies, take the stairs down and you’ll see the Material Crate at the bottom to the left of the stairs. Hell Followed With Him Material Crate 1 As soon as you enter the village at the start of the chapter, look to the left to find the first Material Crate. Material Crate 2 A little bit further on, you’ll find a memorial shrine that you can interact with. Go right from here to find a set of stairs you can go up to reach the second Material Crate, which is hiding in a corner. Material Crate 3 After you reach a grassy field that’s full of enemies to stealthily kill, stick to the right side of the field as you move forward to find this crate on a little island of sorts. Material Crate 4 As soon as you enter the castle near the end of the level, look to the left to find the fourth and final Material Crate. Sinister Tidings Material Crate 1 The only Material Crate of this very short chapter can be found by going into Shiro’s secret room right after Logan wakes up. Don’t worry, the door isn’t locked this time. Way Down Low Material Crate 1 At the first Reaver checkpoint, clear out the enemies and open the truck to free the dormant mutants and find the first Material Crate. Material Crate 2 Right after that, Jean will open the gate for you and the level will open up a bit. To find the second Material Crate, move forward until you see another truck to open. Just like before, the Material Crate is inside the truck. Material Crate 3 You’re probably getting the idea by now, but the third Material Crate is also found inside a truck. Head to the left side of the town to find the checkpoint, and then open the truck up once you defeat the enemies. Material Crate 4 A bit of a change of pace here, as the fourth Material Crate can be found as you approach the radio tower later on in the mission. Head to the nearby building with a bunch of satellites and you’ll be able to grab it. Roll The Dice Material Crate 1 Once you reach the elevator in the back rooms, look to the right to find the chapter’s only Material Crate. Field Test Material Crate 1 After you free the mutants fairly late into the chapter, you can find this Material Crate by going into an alleyway on the left. Material Crate 2 A little further on as you’re rushing to meet Jean at the theatre, look to the left when you’re in a marketplace to find the second and final Material Crate. I’m Still Here Material Crate 1 After you’ve defeated the Sentinel at the start of the chapter, move forward a little bit and you’ll be able to pick between going left and right. Head right and into the building to find the first Material Crate. Material Crate 2 Go to the left, and you’ll carry on down to a lower area where more Sentinels roam. Go through the destroyed buildings on the right to find the path to the second Material Crate. Material Crate 3 Once you reach the noodle bar, which Logan will comment on, you’ll need to drop down to a lower level. As soon as you do, look to the right to find a climbing point that leads to the third Material Crate. Material Crate 4 After you leave the noodle bar, keep moving forward until you reach a zipline and a bunch of enemies in a field. The fourth Material Crate is waiting on the ground floor, right below an enemy. Material Crate 5 The final Material Crate of the chapter is found after you spot Jean going into the power plant. Two enemies will be standing next to the Material Crate just ahead of you. This Was The Dream Material Crate 1 As you ascend the rope up the bell tower early on in the chapter, the first Material Crate will be right in front of you. Material Crate 2 After you escape Essex’s mind control for the first time, break the window in front of you to find this easy Material Crate. Material Crate 3 The very final Material Crate of both this chapter and Wolverine as a whole is found after the second Essex nightmare. Go through the hole in the wall and to the left to find the crate at the top of the stairs.
