Where To Find All The Big Poes In The Ocarina Of Time Remake

The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time - All Big Poe Locations Guide Published Nov 5, 2026, 12:45 AM EST Collin is a Guides Staff Writer at TheGamer who has been writing guides for nearly ten years. He is also a professional game/level designer. More importantly, he's still waiting for a new Ape Escape game to release. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is here, so it's time to once again save Hyrule from the evil Ganondorf and his army of monsters. While you will spend the vast majority of your time completing dungeons and progressing the main story, there are a few side quests you can complete. One of these requires you to hunt down ten Big Poes in Hyrule Field and then sell them to the Poe Collector who has taken up refuge in Hyrule Castle Town. If you're looking to complete this quest, here is where to find all of the Big Poes and what you get for locating all of them. All Big Poe Locations Before we get into the specific locations, it's critical to note that this quest can only be completed once you've finished The Forest Temple and unlocked Epona. This is because the Fairy Bow is key to defeating the Big Poes, and you'll need Epona to actually summon them in Hyrule Fields. You will also need at least one Empty Bottle, although ideally you have four of the five, so you can save on backtracking. Once you're ready, go to Hyrule Castle Town and talk to the Poe Collector. They will explain that they're looking to purchase Poes from you and will ask that you find all ten in Hyrule Field. To do this, summon Epona and look for low stone walls that are surrounded by a dark purple mist. Ride Epona towards the stone wall and jump over it by using a carrot to obtain a speed boost. Successfully vaulting the Poe-infested wall will summon the Big Poe, which will begin running away. Equip your Fairy Bow and chase after it with Epona. You now need to hit the Big Poe with two arrows before it can escape. This is easier said than done, as the Big Poe is quick, and you'll need to fire while riding Epona. Upon killing a Big Poe, it will drop a gold-colored soul, which can be stored in a bottle. Now take the soul back to the Poe Collector and sell it to them. This is the full loop you'll need to go through ten times in order to complete this side quest. Thankfully, having more Bottles reduces the amount of time you'll spend going to and from the Poe Collector. Big Poe 1 Location The first Big Poe can be found right outside of Hyrule Castle, directly on the road going to Lon Lon Ranch. It will be right behind stone Hyrule sign. Jump over the wall to spawn the Big Poe and then chase it down. Big Poe 2 Location Big Poe number two is directly to the right when you exit Hyrule Castle. It will be along the moat, making it quite easy to locate. Big Poe 3 Location Your next Big Poe is located a little farther up the road to Lon Lon Ranch. Near the entrance to the ranch, there will be a fence that has the glowing purple lantern and mist emanating from it. Jump over the fence to spawn the Big Poe. Big Poe 4 Location Back at Lon Lon Ranch, on the east side, you will find a large overturned tree trunk that is glowing with ghostly energy. This one can be a little tricky to vault due to the limited space, so take your time lining it up before riding Epona at it. I also recommend coming from the south side, as this will make the Poe easier to chase. Big Poe 5 Location Your fifth Big Poe can be found outside of Gerudo Valley to the east. It will be right by the incline that leads up to the main entrance. Look for a short stone wall that is glowing. Be careful though, as there is a huge flock of enemy birds nearby that can make actually putting the Big Poe in the bottle quite dangerous. Big Poe 6 Location The sixth Big Poe is between Lon Lon Ranch and Gerudo Valley. Located on a hill just east of the ranch, you can find this corrupted, overturned tree by a massive rock. It will also be right under that large flock of hostile birds, so try to kill the Big Poe a little bit away from them so you're not swarmed. Big Poe 7 Location For this Big Poe, head directly south of Lon Lon Ranch to where the forest filled with Deku Scrubs is. Near the fence of Lon Lon Ranch will be another ghostly tree branch with a lantern hanging off it. Jump over the branch to summon the Big Poe. Big Poe 8 Location The next Big Poe can be found to the east of the Lake Hylia entrance near the wetlands. Look for another overturned tree to jump over and spawn your next target. Big Poe 9 Location Big Poe number nine is a bit of a pain to get, as chasing it north towards Kokiri Forest may result in it getting away. This is due to the small river having quite a few sections that Epona refuses to jump. Instead, come at this section from the north, ensuring you have a ton of space to chase after this ghost. Big Poe 10 Location Finally, the last Big Poe can be found just west of where Poe nine was. Look for a long stone wall on the hill, and at the end will be a broken section with a lantern on it. Jump over the lantern section of the wall to spawn the last Big Poe. As for rewards, along with the 30 Rupees you get per Big Poe, you'll also earn 100 points with the Poe Collector. Getting a total of 500 points (Selling five Big Poes) will net you an Empty Bottle! For those willing to hunt down all ten Big Poes, the collector will give you a Gold Rupee, which is a whopping 200 Rupees. This can be quite nice if you need to buy Magic Beans or some of the tunics for the different dungeons!
