Where Does Usher Live? Exploring the Musician’s Atlanta and LA Properties

He cemented his status as an Atlanta icon with the ad-lib “Peace up, A-Town down” in his smash hit song “Yeah” in 2004, but where does Usher live now? One of the singer’s past homes famously caught his eye long before he began investing in real estate. It was 1991, and a 13-year-old Usher (his full name is Usher Raymond IV) had just visited a mansion in Alpharetta, Georgia, owned by music producer L.A. Reid. “I came into this house, and I remember walking through it just being mesmerized by everything I saw, and it was like, ‘One day, I want to own a house like this,’” he said on a 2003 episode of the BET show How I’m Living. The music megastar would go on to purchase that exact dwelling at 21. Since then, Usher’s star has continued to rise and his real estate portfolio has grown. Below, we’ve rounded up several of Usher’s most well-known properties, each with its own character and charm. Read on to discover where he calls home today.Alpharetta, Georgia, mansionBy 1999, Usher’s platinum single “You Make Me Wanna” was in heavy rotation on the radio, he’d just landed a role on UPN’s hit sitcom Moesha, and he’d wrapped his first film, The Faculty. With big developments happening in his professional life, he made a substantial investment by dropping $1.2 million for Reid’s former home. “There’s history in it,” he said on the episode of How I’m Living. “My history lies in this house.”The gargantuan 10,823-square-foot mansion featured a grand foyer with black marble columns, an open hallway on the second floor peeking down into the living room, a black marble fireplace surrounded by built-in mahogany bookcases, and a primary bedroom with a black-and-gold poster bed. Usher put his personal stamp on the pad by modernizing it a bit under his tenure, replacing the ostentatious wrought iron railings with muted gray ones, swapping the built-ins for floating shelves, and adding a home dance studio with floor-to-ceiling mirrors. This time, he paid $970,000 for a three-bedroom, three-bathroom pad situated close to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The sleek, modern home measured 2,908 square feet, with an enviable rooftop deck and an airy open-concept layout. A dark palette—the walls were painted black—was balanced by light hardwood floors and oversized windows that let in ample natural light. The dark theme even permeated the kitchen, which featured a large black-and-white marble island surrounded by black cabinets. Usher sold the home for $775,000 in 2019.Spanish-style Sunset Strip homeAfter splitting from his first wife, Tameka Foster, in 2009, Usher married his manager, Grace Miguel, in a secret ceremony in Cuba in 2015. That same year, he paid $3.3 million for a Spanish-style residence in West Hollywood, set just above the Sunset Strip. The home, originally built in the 1920s, measured 4,261 square feet and featured five bedrooms and four full and two half bathrooms spread across three stories. Usher’s taste for dark walls continued in this dwelling, where the double-height entryway featured numerous contemporary artworks highlighted against jet-black walls and a grand staircase with wrought-iron railing. Amenities included a state-of-the-art home theater lined with velvet curtains, a primary suite with its own private terrace and two-person soaking tub, a family room with French doors opening onto a deck overlooking the swimming pool, and two en suite guest bedrooms that could be easily converted into fitness studios.In 2018, thieves broke into the home and Usher and Miguel were robbed of $20,000 in cash and a litany of jewelry and watches (the most expensive watch was reportedly worth $220,000). At the time, the couple had the house on the market for $4.2 million, so Miguel told police it was possible that the thieves had unlocked a window during an open house so they might return to steal the goods. The couple split later that year, and they off-loaded the abode a few months later for exactly what they paid for it—$3.3 million.Celebrity-pedigreed Hollywood Hills houseIn the summer of 2022, Usher reportedly shelled out $3.4 million for Cara and Poppy Delevingne’s eclectic Hollywood Hills home. The sisters had bought the five-bedroom and four-bathroom pad from Jared Leto in the summer of 2017 and opened it to Architectural Digest in 2019. “Miraculously, we’re still talking,” they said after remodeling and decorating the 1955-built midcentury property together with architect Nicolò Bini of LA-based Line Architecture. We don’t know if Usher kept any of the Delevingnes’ design choices intact, but during their tenure the dining room boasted emerald green walls with a rattan monkey chandelier, banana-leaf and palm-frond wallpaper was featured throughout, and there were Moroccan sinks that Poppy had procured during her honeymoon in Marrakech. Outdoors, the property featured a greenery-covered roof, a pool and spa, a stone fire pit, and a barbecue area.Usher sold the two-story dwelling in August 2024 for $3.6 million. The listing revealed that the 4,021-square-foot stucco house had an art studio, a game room, a bar, and a music studio when the “Yeah!” singer handed it off.The musician has kept a low profile on his real estate moves since then—though he offered a few details about his home life in a November 2025 Architectural Digest interview, including his “little man cave” complete with a golf simulator and a vinyl record collection. “I’ve been bitten by the golf bug, so I want to try perfecting my swing. This golf simulator has really helped me dial it in,” he said. “I’ve got an old school record player, so I’ll take out a vinyl, drop a needle, and listen to music.” The eight-time Grammy winner also delved into his proclivity for art, explaining that his collection holds strong sentimental value. “Finding different artists and celebrating them speaks to me as a collector,” he told AD. “There’s a conversation in each piece of art, and that’s probably the most valuable thing. One piece that I like is an Anthony James light fixture that’s in my foyer. It has an octagonal shape with multiple layers to it. It’s really cool.”Atlanta cover-star mansionWe don’t know exactly when Usher picked up another place in Atlanta, but we do know that the “Confessions” singer, his wife, Jennifer Goicoechea Raymond, and his four children now reside in a white-brick Georgian-style house there. Usher enlisted designer Nicole Fuller to turn the home into an art-filled family sanctuary, which graces the September 2026 cover of AD. It is filled with sentimental moments including a display of five Gordon Parks photos in the foyer, a concrete wall with the family’s handprints, and Usher’s grandmother’s piano, which sits under a cross-shaped window decorated with dried flowers from her funeral.“Creatively, they say, you don’t color over the lines.
