The stand will be closed for the entirety of the 2026/27 season, but the club have said that the construction will be completed in time for the beginning of the 2027/28 campaign. In an announcement in April, Aston Villa revealed they had accelerated plans for the stand to be completed by this time, which also involved “significant cost savings.” Unfortunately for Villa fans, the work was not able to be completed in the off-season due to the mammoth task at hand. Season ticket holders in the North Stand have been given the option of moving somewhere else in Villa Park for this season, with priority access to switch back to the new section of the ground next summer. Aston Villa’s President of Business Operations, Francesco Calvo, said: “Temporarily reducing Villa Park’s capacity is not a decision we take lightly. “However, it is the right decision and one that we have made with our supporters and the long-term future of the Club at the heart of our thinking.
