When will there be another heatwave in London? Forecast predicts more scorching weather on way

A Met Office weather forecast has predicted that London could experience another heatwave in the coming days.The threshold for heatwaves is different across the country. In London, a heatwave means three or more consecutive days during which temperatures reach 28C or higher. The current Met forecast on Saturday, August 1, predicts highs of 28C on Sunday, August 2, 32C on Monday, August 3, and 28C on Tuesday, August 4.If these temperatures become reality it will mark another heatwave. As temperatures soar again the capital will be under another Met Office yellow heat health alert beginning on Sunday.It follows days of hot and humid weather with the Met Office saying on Friday that England and Wales was on course for the driest July since records began.It said the month was characterised by an “exceptional combination of extreme heat, abundant sunshine and an almost complete absence of rainfall”.Parched landscapes at Buckingham Palace and Green Park in central London on Friday PAProvisional statistics showed that only 5.6mm of rainfall had been recorded in England in July – less than half of the previous record of 13.4mm set in 1911.Aerial pictures show the parched London landscape after weeks of hot, dry weather. But the long term forecast for the UK suggests rain is on the way.The Met Office’s long-term forecast from August 6 to 15 states: “A generally changeable period looks likely and many places are likely to see some rain or showers at times, interspersed with drier and sunnier spells. Many areas will start with a few drier days, although there will be some showers in the north.”
