Before the main draw, there will be a pre-draw to decide whether each of the eight Champions League and Europa League clubs will be at home or away. The first eight ties drawn will involve those clubs playing in the top two European competitions with their home or away status already decided, and each will be drawn against a club from a separate bowl containing the remaining sides. Despite their participation in the Conference League, Brighton will be in the main draw as the competition doesn’t begin until October, meaning it doesn’t affect the third round schedule. When is the Carabao Cup third round draw? The draw for the Carabao Cup third round will be on Wednesday, August 26. The pre-draw will commence during the build-up to Preston’s clash with Everton. The main draw will begin after the round two tie at approximately 10.30pm BST. From the third round onwards, the draw will no longer be split into Northern and Southern sections.
