Prizes never expire – you can claim as far back as the very first draw in 1957. More than 22 million people hold Premium Bonds. Instead of paying interest, NS&I enters every eligible £1 bond into a monthly draw for tax-free prizes between £25 and £1 million. The odds of any single £1 bond winning stand at 22,000-to-1, with the prize fund rate at 3.8% following July’s increase from 3.3%. You can hold up to £50,000, and new bonds must be held for a full calendar month before they qualify. Winnings can be paid into your bank account or reinvested into more bonds.
