WhatsApp finally starts rolling out Liquid Glass more broadly on iOS

After months of very limited testing, WhatsApp is finally bringing the first stage of its Liquid Glass redesign to more users. Here are the details. Liquid Glass starts rolling out more broadly on WhatsApp Last October, WhatsApp rolled out a small-scale test of the Liquid Glass look applied to the app’s bottom navigation bar, and to some elements of its Chats tab interface. Since then, Meta has been experimenting with its adaptation of the Liquid Glass redesign in other UI elements, such as the voice message player, the in-chat interface, message reactions, and context menus. Now, the company appears to be rolling out the first stage of its broader Liquid Glass revamp, with several users reporting on X that they can now see the updated interface. That said, not everyone enjoyed the change: On my device, WhatsApp now shows the Liquid Glass redesign in the bottom navigation bar, some in-chat elements, and the top navigation bar of the main Chats interface. It also displays the iOS 26 keyboard. Other UI elements, such as the voice message player and the message reactions menu, still use the old design. However, it should now only be a matter of time before Meta brings Liquid Glass to more parts of the app. Does your WhatsApp show the Liquid Glass navigation bar? Let us know in the comments.
