As the spooky season finally begins, Netflix is bringing a lot of content fitting with it throughout October, along with other licensed and original movies and TV shows. The rise of streaming platforms has changed the way movies and TV shows are released and consumed, and while the so-called streaming wars are over, there’s now a much larger offer of platforms to choose from, both free and subscription-based. Still, Netflix continues to be one of the biggest and most popular streaming services, thanks to its extensive catalog. Throughout September 2026, Netflix added classics like Alien, the Jaws movie collection, and that of Resident Evil, along with new releases like season 2 of The Gentlemen, the TV show Crew Girl, and Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. As it does every month, Netflix will add a new batch of licensed and original content to its catalog in October, including a variety of horror movies to prepare for Halloween. October will see the addition of movies like Evil Dead, Friday the 13th, Hush, and The Sixth Sense, along with many other non-horror movies, such as Moonlight, Pearl Harbor, and The Twilight Saga. As for original content, Netflix is bringing the documentary Schumacher '94 — The Birth of a Legend, Tyler Perry’s Doing Life, and the limited series Below, among many other exciting movies and TV shows across different genres and for all ages and tastes.
