What is a transfer deal sheet and how do they work?

Another transfer deadline day is upon us as clubs across the Premier League and beyond scramble to complete any last-minute summer business.Should a signing need to be completed beyond the final hours of Deadline Day, it is mandatory that the clubs involved fill out what is known as a ‘deal sheet’.This is a form submitted to the Premier League - or the EFL - to ensure that the deal can proceed, with the sheet itself showing that an agreement has been reached between the clubs before the deadline.It also gives the clubs more time to submit the relevant paperwork to get the transfer done. The deal sheet - if filled out and filed properly - gives clubs two more hours to finalise all the remaining details.
