Wetherspoons is bringing back punters’ favourite beer to its UK menu from £4.19 a pint within DAYS

WETHERSPOONS has revealed it’s bringing back a popular beer to its menu. San Miguel will be back in pubs within days as it’s being rolled out to all Spoons locations in August. At an average price of £4.19, it’s a bargain compared with the £5.10 San Miguel usually fetches in UK pubs. Plus it’s well under the national average for any pint, which is £4.80, according to the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA). Sign up for the Money newsletter Thank you! It’s a major win for fans of the Spanish lager, which was discontinued from Spoons pubs back in November 2024. Customers said they were “gutted” at the time, with the drink replaced by Italian rival Poretti. Reports said it was because a 15-year partnership between San Miguel’s owner and the Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company, which distributed the lager, had ended. San Miguel was crowned as Britain’s favourite pint in a YouGov survey two years ago, pipping the likes of Guinness and Thatchers Gold to the post. Commenting on the return to Spoons, the pub chain’s marketing executive James Vaughan said: “We are confident that our customers will welcome the addition of San Miguel on draught. “It complements our existing range of draught lagers available in our pubs.” Most read in Money It comes as Spoons is kicking off a 10-day festival this week where you can grab pints for as little as £2.99. The Wetherspoons Craft Cider Festival is back again this Friday and will last until August 9. It will see 15 ciders from a range of producers showcased at pubs across the country.
