Wendy’s store closures: Franchisee could close another 60 locations in Chapter 11 bankruptcy

One of Wendy’s biggest franchisees is moving to potentially close as many as 60 restaurants, adding to the dozens of stores that it has already closed this year. The move comes after the franchisee, Meritage Hospitality Group, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan on September 17, 2026.
