Set to land on Aldi shelves on September 10, bags of the beery snacks are ideal for adding a salty side dish to a traditional German pint. They cost just £1.15 for a 150g bag and are well worth a try if you love giving odd treats a taste. The beer crisps have been part of the Aldi Oktoberfest range in previous years and fans have been divided by the “weirdly accurate” taste. Described by one shopper as “yeasty”, she admitted: “I’m not sure if like them or not! I didn’t instantly hate them but they’re a weird one…” Another described them as “lovely” and said: “They actually taste like beer!” Another Aldi fan wrote online: “I tried these last time they were out and loved them. I usually like crisps with more flavouring than potato, but these have a very subtle beery flavour and are delicious!” Most read in Money “They initially don’t taste like much but after a little while the beery taste develops,” one more reviewer explained. The Aldi Oktoberfest range also features Currywurst Sausage crisps along with nutty Peanut Puffs and Paprika Potato Sticks. Comment now
