Published Oct 22, 2026, 4:42 PM EDT Jeff Dodge (he/him), a published author and graduate of Western Washington University, has been a TV news editor for many years and has had the chance to interview multiple reality show stars, including Randy Jackson, Nick Cannon, Heidi Klum, Mel B and John Cena. Fun Fact: he’s been to every single Idol Live! Tour. Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking is coming back for a third season this fall on Food Network, and the official trailer has just been released. The food competition show first aired in 2024, with Harry Potter movie stars James and Oliver Phelps as hosts. Chefs take part in several Harry Potter-themed baking challenges at Leavesden Studios until only one team is crowned the winner. A second season aired the following year, and Food Network announced a season 3 renewal less than two months ago. Now the trailer for Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking season 3 has been released, courtesy of Collider. The preview reveals that several past contestants are returning for another shot at the prize. The competition will pit four teams of three against each other, with each group representing Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff in a battle of the Hogwarts houses. The Phelps twins are back as hosts, but new to the series are pastry chefs Duff Goldman and Sarah Mountain, who are given the titles of Ministers of Baking. At the end of the season, the winning team will receive a VIP trip to Harry Potter Studio Tour Tokyo. The Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking season 3 trailer begins with the Golden Snitch flying through the show's kitchen, and the Phelps twins arriving by Floo Powder out of the fireplace. The bakers are called in and get to work. When one of the contestants is playing around with a wand, one of the hosts warns him, "Be careful where you're waving those things...You're holding it the wrong way around." The Phelps twins explain to the teams that the third season will celebrate all seven Harry Potter stories because this is the 25th anniversary of the first film being released in theaters. Also, the reason why the teams are trios this time instead of duos is to pay tribute to the trio of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Some of the contestants' creations are teased in the trailer, including the basilisk, Professor Lupin as a werewolf, Fluffy the three-headed dog and a dragon. The Ministers of Baking heap praise on the contestants, though Goldman does admit that the results of one particular challenge were extremely close. The trailer ends with the Phelps twins on the verge of announcing the winner. Andy Ortega, Angel Figueroa and Rui Mota are competing on the Gryffindor team; Christopher Teixeira, Hemu Basumatary and Miko Uy are on the Slytherin team; Caitlin Taylor, Jujhar Mann and Kimberly Adams are the Ravenclaws; and Elizabeth Rowe, Molly Robbins and Priya Winsor are competing as Hufflepuffs. Shortly after Wizards of Baking crowns a winner, HBO will premiere the Harry Potter reboot series on December 25, with Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton stepping into the roles of Harry, Ron and Hermione, previously played by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson on the big screen. Harry Potter season 1 will adapt the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Before the original story gets a new adaptation, though, fans can experience the franchise in a very different way by watching Wizards of Baking. Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking season 3 premieres Wednesday, November 4 at 8 p.m. EST on Food Network and HBO Max. Release Date November 14, 2024
