Wayne Rooney is left cringing as he looks back at his 'terrible' acting in infamous wine advert as he says it was 'horrendous'

Wayne Rooney was left cringing as he took a look back at his infamous wine advert on Monday. The former footballer, 40, starred in a TV advert for wine brand Casillero del Diablo who were the official wine partner of Manchester United, back in 2011. The advert saw Wayne star alongside his teammates Ryan Giggs and Patrice Evra as he told them a new 'devil' is arriving at the race club before the shot cut to the new bottle of wine. And appearing on Capital Breakfast radio show on Monday, hosts Chris Stark and Jordan North brought up Wayne's infamous acting skills as Chris joked: 'Well, let's never forget Wayne's acting, what's the red wine one?'Taking a trip down memory lane, Wayne admitted: 'Yeah. Oh, some of them are terrible. The red wine one, oh it is shocking.'The hosts then played a snippet from the ad as Wayne dramatically recites his lines: 'Guys, we have a problem. The boss said that new devil is arriving.... They say he is a legend.'Asked whether he was embarrassed by it at the time, Wayne couldn't stop laughing as he explained: 'To be honest I'm in a suit which I didn't really like being in and I'm looking out the window and rubbing my chin being like "We've got a problem". Wayne Rooney was left cringing as he looked back at his 'terrible' acting in infamous wine advert during Capital Breakfast on Tuesday - as he says it was 'horrendous' The former footballer, 40, starred in a TV advert for wine brand Casillero del Diablo who were the official wine partner of Manchester United, back in 2011'I went and watched the final thing, but it was too late. It was already out and it was horrendous.'Wayne and his wife Coleen are currently promoting their new fly-on-the-wall Disney+ docuseries, The Real Rooneys. The show sees the couple proudly show off their £20million mega-mansion after they invited the cameras into their home for a year to document the highs and lows of their marriage, family life and work endeavours.First on the list of grand reveals was a detailed tour of their palatial Cheshire home, dubbed The Morrisons Mansion, which they built from the ground up in 2022 upon 50 acres of farmland. Speaking about their family home, which they live in with sons Kai, 16, Klay, 13, Kit, ten, and Cass, eight, Coleen said: 'This house is everything that I have dreamed of since I was a little girl.'As a montage of the house's many rooms flashed up, she continued: 'You know when you're a child and you draw a house, everything's symmetrical. The door in the middle and the same both sides...'Among the home's many amenities is a cinema, indoor swimming pool, an underground spa, wine cellar and a football pitch for their four sons.Yet, Wayne confessed he had no hand in planning the house because he only wanted 'two things'. He went on: 'A small little room with no windows – not 'cause I'm a psycho – but if I was playing PlayStation or watching a movie, and my snooker table, I don't really care what else.' Wayne's game room flashed up, showing his keyboard, cinema screen and pinball machine, while he was also seen strutting into their indoor pool room which also houses an ice bath. He told the hosts: 'I went and watched the final thing, but it was too late. It was already out and it was horrendous' Wayne and his wife Coleen are currently promoting their new fly-on-the-wall Disney+ docuseries, The Real Rooneys which sees the couple show off their £20million mega-mansion As for Coleen, her priority was her wardrobe, as she explained: 'When we built the house I said I want a really big dressing room. 'But as you build, things change so it's still a big dressing room but probably not as big as I wanted it to be. 'I've got this and Wayne has a few wardrobes. They did say can you share and I said no!' Coleen also showed off the home's personal touches, including black and white portraits of the children, souvenirs from Coleen's time in the I'm A Celeb jungle and a statue of Wayne celebrating a goal. She then chimed in: 'It's a massive house but there's a lot of rooms within the house so I do lose my kids!'Even though it's mine and Wayne's dream home everything was planned around the four kids.' Wayne added: 'Since we built this house I've been away working so it's great now I've got time at home with the kids. 'It's still mad to me to this day where we're living now to where we grew up. Me and Coleen, two kids from Croxteth. How are we living here?'
