watchOS 27: Siri app lets you continue existing chats, though it’s a bit hidden

Apple Watch includes an all-new Siri app in watchOS 27. Unlike the iPhone and iPad versions, it’s a bit less intuitive to use in one way. Siri app comes to iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch Starting with Apple’s OS 27 software updates, Siri can save chat history for the first time. This is useful for two reasons. First, you can easily reference something you looked up before without asking again. Second, you can actually resume a conversation with Siri without starting over from scratch. Having context in the chat thread changes how you need to communicate with Siri. Suddenly, you’re able to speak more naturally without explaining exactly what you mean each time. It’s a bit like sticking with one customer support agent instead of jumping around a phone tree. Anyway, Siri apps for iPhone, iPad, and Mac make picking up the conversation intuitive and easy. It’s basically like using an iMessage chat thread. Meanwhile, on the Apple Watch, it’s fair to determine that the Siri app just doesn’t support resuming chats. The chat threads are displayed, but there’s no obvious user interface for continuing the conversation from within the Siri app on Apple Watch. How to continue Siri chats on Apple Watch Fortunately, there’s a way. The trick? Invoking Siri while the chat thread is open in the Siri app. This can be by holding the Digital Crown or by saying Siri/Hey Siri. Again, it’s not really intuitive, but it works. Siri on watchOS will append whatever your input is to the chat thread in view. There’s probably a better way to do this that we’ll see in a future version of watchOS 27. For now, give it a shot. watchOS 27 is officially available alongside iOS 27. Siri AI requires specific hardware, supported markets, and may be waitlisted before becoming available.
