Ukrainian troops have liberated another 4 square kilometers (1.5 square miles) of territory in the Kupiansk sector of the northeastern Kharkiv region. On one section of the operation, the regiment worked alongside troops from Ukraine’s 35th Separate Marine Brigade. The latest operation brings the total area liberated by the regiment in this part of the Kupiansk sector to 13.5 square kilometers (5.2 square miles), the corps said. Khartiia previously reported that the unit had retaken 9.5 square kilometers (3.6 square miles) in the area. Drone and helmet-camera footage released by the unit shows Ukrainian assault groups moving through the area and clearing Russian positions. Kyiv Post is unable to independently verify the battlefield claims. Kupyansk is a strategically important railway hub in the Kharkiv region that witnessed heavy fighting between Ukrainian and Russian forces. The 23rd Assault Regiment R.U.G. was formed within the National Guard’s 2nd Khartiia Corps.
