He was taken into custody.Body-worn footage showed the suspect asking 'what?!' in apparent disbelief as he was arrested.Detectives said the suspect is linked to the attempted importation of a 'significant number' of knives from China, including zombie knives, which were intercepted by Border Force before they could reach the streets. By taking them off the streets and bringing offenders to justice, we're making London safer for everyone.'Images released by the Met show a selection of bladed weapons allegedly discovered inside the property.These raids form part of the Met's ongoing efforts to tackle knife crime and violence across the capital.In September 2024, zombie-style knives and machetes were added to the list of prohibited weapons in England and Wales.Zombie knives are weapons typically featuring a blade longer than eight inches and often include a serrated edge, spikes or multiple sharp points.A Met Police operation in May targeting the most dangerous knife crime offenders in the capital resulted in 243 people being arrested and 159 knives being seized. The suspect appeared surprised when he was arrested The police recovered a number of weapons as part of the investigation The two-week crackdown – part of Operation Sceptre – saw officers trial a new data-led approach to identify the highest priority suspects.It was directly responsible for 88 of the 243 arrests, Scotland Yard said.More than 3,000 weapons have been taken off London's streets in the last year.
