It was a big victory for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) whose supporters and those who had been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for more than a month over the NEET paper leak after Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepped down on Saturday. Visuals from the protest site showed that the CJP supporters erupted in massive celebrations following the announcement of the Union minister's resignation, which was the primary demand of the outfit. However, the CJP emphasised, rather, making it very clear that the protests would not stop at Pradhan's resignation only, stressing their other demands regarding compensation to the victims' families, filing of FIRs against security personnel who lathicharged the protesting students and not taking any punitive action against the demonstrators.
