Watch: Houthis release dramatic drone strike footage from Saudi border regions

In dramatic footage released by the Iran-aligned Houthis, drones sweep across Saudi Arabia’s border frontiers before aerial views appear to show strikes on military vehicles and positions. The video, which the group claims depicts attacks on Saudi troops in Najran, Jizan and Asir, emerges as missile and drone threats against the kingdom intensify, raising fresh questions over the security of its border regions and critical infrastructure. The video comes amid growing hostilities between Saudi Arabia and the Iran-aligned Houthis, with the conflict increasingly threatening the kingdom’s military installations and critical energy infrastructure.According to Reuters, Houthis claimed that it had attacked Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry in Riyadh, with no confirmation of the alleged strike from Saudi authorities. The Houthis also said they had attacked two military transport aircraft at Saudi Arabia’s Najran airport and an airbase in Khamis Mushait. In separate statements, the Houthis said they had launched ballistic missiles and heavy weapons towards advancing forces and repelled an advance by Saudi-backed forces near the strategically important Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which connects the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden. The waterway is a critical shipping route for international trade, linking Europe and Asia through the Suez Canal.
