Watch Ariana Grande Make Her Play for Robert De Niro’s Circle of Trust in ‘Focker-in-Law’ Trailer

YouTube/Paramount Pictures UK Trending on Billboard Ariana Grande wants in on Robert De Niro’s “Circle of Trust.” Paramount Pictures released a new international trailer for Focker-in-Law on Thursday (Sept. 3), ahead of the comedy’s arrival Thanksgiving weekend. The fourth film from the Focker franchise brings Grande into the fold. The singer plays a life coach from California named Olivia Jones. She’s dating Greg Focker’s (Ben Stiller) son, Henry (Skyler Gisondo), and Greg isn’t convinced Olivia is the one for his boy, even though Henry is looking to propose. They have a Focker-versus-fiancée face-off during a family weekend, which reintroduces Robert De Niro as Jack Byrnes. Greg attempts to take a page out of his father-in-law’s book and attempts to put Olivia through the wringer over the course of the weekend to make sure she’s wifey material. Jack even brings out the classic lie detector monitor to test Olivia, but she doesn’t seem fazed. She puts out a fire that Greg starts while they’re competitively cooking dinner, before she has to give him the Heimlich maneuver to save him from choking. The clip is soundtracked by RAYE’s hit “Where Is My Husband!,” which peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. The rest of the Focker-in-Law cast is rounded out by newcomer Eduardo Franco and the return of Owen Wilson as Kevin, Teri Polo as Pam Focker, Booksmart‘s Beanie Feldstein as Samantha Focker and Blythe Danner as Dina Byrnes. Despite previously announcing she’d be “taking a step back from visibility” following the Eternal Sunshine Tour, Billboard confirmed Wednesday that Grande will be taking part in press and promotion for Focker-in-Law, as she’s proud of the film. The Grammy-winning singer wrapped up the Eternal Sunshine Tour with a 10th London show on Tuesday (Sept. 1). According to Billboard Boxscore, Ari’s trek grossed $107.9 million across 638,000 tickets sold. Watch the Focker-in-Law trailer below. The film hits theaters on Nov. 25.
