From Resident Evil Requiem and Crimson Desert to Forza Horizon 6 and 007 First Light, 2026 has had some truly massive games. One of the most surprising names to join that list over the past few months is Wardogs, a new 100-player FPS that came out of nowhere and has steadily been gathering a massive community. Today, September 10, marks the early access release of Wardogs on PC, which is bound to be a banner day for the game. Anyone who’s not on PC has likely been wondering whether Wardogs will ever come to console, which is exactly what a new trailer has confirmed, even if it’s not entirely good news. Wardogs Launch Trailer References Halo 3 And Confirms Console Ports Let’s Hope It’s Still A Big Deal In Two Years Just in time for today’s early access launch, the official Wardogs YouTube channel shared a launch trailer for the game. Beyond the fact that the trailer is clearly referencing an iconic Halo 3 trailer with its freeze-frame shots, the trailer ends by finally confirming once and for all that Wardogs will come to PS5 and Xbox Series. I say PS5 and Xbox Series, but considering the Wardogs console ports are confirmed to be releasing in 2028, we might be on a whole new generation of consoles by then. That’s right, if you want to experience Wardogs on console, you’re going to be waiting up to two years to get your hands on it. I imagine that the console releases will come at the end of early access, as two years would be quite a long time not to hit 1.0. Wardogs is very clearly aiming for the PC audience with its massive Battlefield-esque battles, but it’s still quite a surprise to hear that it’s that far out. That being said, it is at least nice to know ahead of time that it will eventually be available on consoles, even if there’s a good chance it won’t be as hot by the time we get there.
