That's according to Bulkhead boss Joe Brammer, who revealed that the studio checks potential hires to make sure that they play FPS games and are passionate about the genre. "I like to think that if you're an FPS fan, we're trying to do right by that audience, and we're one of the good guys to support," Brammer said in an interview with GamesRadar+. "[We] won't always get it right, but we like people to know where their money is going and what type of studio it's going into, and [into] someone that they feel they can share their values with. So, I think, that's kind of where the core of Bulkhead is. We are FPS players. You know, [when] you apply to Bulkhead, you have to put the Steam hours." Basically, if you want to work on Wardogs, you can't set your profile to private. Brammer needs to know you have an ungodly amount of hours in Half-Life 2 and Arma before you can jump on board. After all, in his own words, "You wouldn't let me go and make Final Fantasy. Like, I wouldn't be able to do that. I wouldn't know what we're talking about." Why Your Steam Profile Is Your Resume At Bulkhead Bulkhead Wardogs senior producer Kane Allard likewise said that the studio checks every single applicant's Steam profile to ensure that they are "passionate about FPS games," though it's not strictly about weeding out Soulslike fans from the Counter-Strike 2 diehards. And I'm sure if you're a Silver, you can still bring something to the table at Bulkhead. Just hope the other applicants aren't Global Elite. Brammer says that it's okay if applicants play other games or dabble in different genres, and that "it doesn't make you a worse developer." But the studio ultimately "want to know that you really care about the details of what we're doing." In so many words, it wants people passionate about shooters to ensure that it makes a shooter that will resonate with players. The easiest way to do that is to hire people who know that world.
