WandaVision's Sequel Officially Arrives On Disney+ In 1 Month

WandaVision's story is set to come full circle in October 2026, when VisionQuest finally lands on Disney+. In 2021, Wanda Maximoff and Vision starred in their first leading MCU roles despite Vision having apparently been killed in the 2019 film, Avengers: Endgame. The series followed the enchanting and heartbreaking love story of a woman in grief, before the finale revealed that through Wanda's astonishing power, she actually managed to bring her beloved Vision back, but not exactly as he had been before. Instead, Vision's mind was rebuilt by Wanda, and fused with the repaired White Vision's body, salvaged from his destroyed remains. However, despite her beloved Vision coming back from the dead, Wanda's mind had become fragmented, and she gave into the power of the Darkhold, causing her to become a much darker, more terrifying version of her superhero alter ego, The Scarlet Witch. And now, years after her MCU narrative came to an end, WandaVision is getting a sequel in VisionQuest. VisionQuest Completes The WandaVision Trilogy While Elizabeth Olsen was first introduced as Wanda back in 2015s Avengers: Age of Ultron, the same movie where the Vision first came to life, her story didn't get the attention it deserved until WandaVision really captured the depth of her grief and emotion. As an isolated hero who struggles to wield powerful chaos magic and loses everyone in the world who means anything to her. Wanda's story is tragic. From losing her parents as a child, to being experimented on in the years that followed in a lab with her brother, Pietro, to losing her brother in Sokovia, and on to her confrontation with Thanos, where she witnessed Vision die twice, once by her own hand to save the universe, and again, moments later, when Thanos reversed time and made her actions worthless before tearing the mind stone from Vision's head. WandaVision finally showed just how haunting this character's entire life had been up to that point, and in one of the most well-executed Disney+ original series ever made, it saw her descend further into her pain. This ultimately led the character to become a villain in the 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where Wanda eventually sees what she has become as the Scarlet Witch, and sacrifices herself. Wanda's story is further branched out in the stellar series, Agatha All Along, which sees Wanda's legacy continue to have an influence in the MCU, but it's VisionQuest that will truly serve as the final chapter in this epic trilogy of love, loss, and family. The Scarlet Witch May Be Dead, But Wanda's Story Isn't Over As mentioned above, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw Wanda sacrifice herself after she realized what she had become. Of course, this felt like a definitive end to her narrative, but as Agatha All Along revealed, and the trailers for VisionQuest have already asserted, Wanda's legacy lives on not only in her partner's renewed life, but that of her impossible children. Wanda created two sons, Billy and Tommy, in her fantasy life with her late husband, Vision. While this appeared to be pure fiction, when Wanda eventually learns to wield the power of the Darkhold to walk through dreams into other dimensions, she witnesses the fact that almost every other version of reality has her become a mother to these same two boys. Now, Wanda may be dead, but her sons, Billy and Tommy, have managed to manifest into the current timeline, with Billy connecting with Agatha in Agatha All Along, and Tommy set to reappear in VisionQuest. Obviously, the MCU needs to answer some serious questions about how this all happened, and with VisionQuest adding to the Scarlet Witch trilogy, it seems as though the Maximoff family will hopefully unpack the mystery once and for all.
