Walkers brings back TWO fan-favourite crisp flavours as it unveils new ‘Wavy Cut’ ridged range – where to get them

WALKERS has revived two popular flavours in its new ‘Wavy Cut’ range – and shoppers are set to be delighted. The new crisp formats are set to debut exclusively to one UK supermarket retailer. The two new ridged formats are said to appeal to consumer demands for wavy crisps Credit: Walkers The snack giant has released two new ridge-cut variants to its core crisp line-up, with the launch of Lea & Perrins Worcester Sauce and Sticky Teriyaki wavy-cut crisps. Available exclusively in Sainsbury’s, the Worcester Sauce flavour is said to feature a “savoury, tangy and slightly sweet” taste, now even more enhanced with the deep ridge design. The popular crisps were brought back in February this year after being axed two years ago, with shoppers threatening to boycott the brand if they did not re-introduce them. Meanwhile, the Sticky Teriyaki crisp has been brought out in wavy-cut format after proving to be a bestseller in the brand’s ‘Flavours of the World’ range. Said to be “inspired by the flavours of Japan”, the sweet and lightly spiced potato treats won the nation over, with Brits calling them “addictive” and “irresistible”. The flavour was also made part of Walkers permanent line-up earlier this month much to the excitement of fans, landing in major retailers including Tesco on August 11. Set to retail for £2 for a 140g sharing bag, Walkers said the new additions tap into demand from customers for more ridged snacks. Christopher Crimmins, marketing manager – premium brands at PepsiCo, added: “We know consumers are seeking more exciting taste experiences. Most read in Money “The launch of Walkers Wavy Cut has been designed to meet this demand, whilst in a premium format that will help support Sainsbury’s in driving sales of higher-value lines.” The new formats will initially be available in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK, ahead of a wider national roll out in 2027. The brand specified that both crisps are also HFSS compliant. This means the savoury snacks fall below the government’s threshold for being high in fat, salt, or sugar, exempting it from strict placement and promotion restrictions. Comment now
