Who's ready for some emo that's not afraid to writhe around in the pop-punk muck? Some ultra-catchy pop-rock, charged with angst and charging forward with anthemic energy? That's what you'll get from "Joyce Kilmer Service Area," the lead single from wakelee's new album under construction forever. The Brooklyn band is touring this fall with Hot Mulligan, whose guitarist Chris Freeman provided additional production on the new LP alongside Zach Aumueller, and this song overlaps that band's nasal pop-punk aesthetic.
