Vivo V80 India launch date announced, key specs revealed

Vivo is set to roll out the Vivo V80 in India on October 6. The smartphone will ship with noticeable upgrades over its predecessors, including a larger battery, a faster display, and upgraded software. Like its predecessors, the new smartphone is also set to ship with a Zeiss-branded camera setup. However, it will have a faster refresh rate display, a larger battery and upgraded software. Ahead of its official debut, the company has officially revealed the design and key specifications of the smartphone. Here is everything you need to know about the Vivo V80.Vivo V80 specs and featuresThe Vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The company confirmed, however, that the full 144Hz refresh rate is supported only by selected applications. And actual performance could vary depending on the app and usage conditions.The screen supports 1.07 billion colours and offers up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS). There is also a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with a Sony IMX882 sensor, OIS and support for 3x optical zoom. Vivo says the camera can offer up to 100x zoom. The setup is accompanied by a Zeiss wide-angle camera. On the front, the Vivo V80 features a 50-megapixel Group Selfie camera with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus. The phone will also support 4K cinematic video recording and 4K video recording at 60fps. Vivo is also bringing several AI-powered imaging tools, including more than 30 creative features, Live Sticker Collage and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, which is designed to improve festive portraits.The smartphone packs a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo says is the largest battery capacity on a V-series phone so far. The battery is rated to offer up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. It supports 90W FlashCharge. The company promised to reach a 50 per cent charge in 30 minutes using its fast-charging mode. The Vivo V80 will be the first V-series smartphone to ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7. Vivo is promising up to six years of security updates.While Vivo has not officially revealed the chipset powering the V80, the smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench with a Qualcomm QTI SM7750 chipset, which corresponds to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. The same processor also powers the Vivo V70. The benchmark listing recorded 1,070 points in the single-core test and 3,552 points in the multi-core test.Vivo V80 price, colour and availabilityThe Vivo V80 will launch in India on October 6 at 12 PM. It will be available in three colour options: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.Following the launch, the smartphone will be available to purchase through the Vivo India website, Amazon, Flipkart and offline retail stores across the country.
