Vishwanath and Sons box office Day 7: Suriya film winds up Week 1 with Rs 141 crore

Suriya and Mamitha Baiju's Vishwanath and Sons has completed its first week in theatres with a worldwide gross collection of Rs 141.32 crore. The film earned an estimated Rs 4.20 crore India nett (gross minus taxes) on Day 7, marking a 17.6 per cent drop from the Rs 5.10 crore it collected on Wednesday, according to trade website, Sacnilk.The film's India nett collection now stands at Rs 81.60 crore, while its India gross collection has reached Rs 94.32 crore. With its overseas performance adding significantly to the total, Vishwanath and Sons has emerged as a strong theatrical performer in its first week.Vishwanath and Sons Day 7 box office collectionOn Thursday, Vishwanath and Sons earned Rs 4.20 crore nett from 4,634 shows across India. This was lower than the previous day's Rs 5.10 crore nett, which came from 5,093 shows. Despite the drop in earnings and show count, the film maintained a steady run as it entered the end of its first week.The Suriya-starrer opened its theatrical run with a strong start and has managed to hold reasonably well through the week. Its cumulative India nett collection has now climbed to Rs 81.60 crore. The film's India gross collection stands at Rs 94.32 crore, taking its domestic theatrical total close to the Rs 100-crore mark.Worldwide box office collectionThe film's overseas performance has been an important contributor to its overall theatrical run. Vishwanath and Sons, directed by Venky Atluri, added around Rs 1 crore from international markets on Day 7, taking its cumulative overseas gross collection to approximately Rs 47 crore. Combined with its India gross of Rs 94.32 crore, the film's worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 141.32 crore after seven days. Telugu version edges Tamil on Day 7Interestingly, the Telugu version of Vishwanath and Sons earned slightly more than the Tamil version on Thursday.The Telugu release collected Rs 2.20 crore India nett from 2,019 shows, recording an overall occupancy of 22 per cent. Its morning shows registered 13.42 per cent occupancy, while afternoon and evening shows recorded 21.50 per cent and 19.33 per cent, respectively. Night shows performed the best at 33.67 per cent.The Tamil version earned Rs 2 crore from 2,615 shows, with an overall occupancy of 19 per cent. Morning shows recorded 15.23 per cent occupancy, followed by 17.77 per cent in the afternoon and 19 per cent in the evening. Night shows once again recorded the highest occupancy at 26.23 per cent.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were the biggest contributors to the film's Day 7 domestic gross, generating Rs 2.15 crore. Tamil Nadu followed with Rs 1.85 crore. Karnataka contributed Rs 50 lakh, while Kerala added Rs 25 lakh. The rest of India contributed another Rs 8 lakh.
