Vishwanath and Sons box office Day 3: Suriya film hits Rs 100 crore globally

Suriya and Mamitha Baiju-starrer Viswanath And Sons maintained its strong momentum at the box office on Sunday, taking its worldwide gross past the Rs 110-crore mark within three days of its release. According to trade website Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 20.55 crore nettt (gross minus taxes) in India on Day 3, taking its three-day India nett collection to Rs 58.15 crore.With an estimated overseas gross of Rs 43 crore, the film's worldwide gross now stands at Rs 110.22 crore.Viswanath And Sons opened in theatres on Friday (August 14) with an India nett collection of Rs 15.35 crore. The film saw a significant jump on Saturday, collecting Rs 22.25 crore. While Sunday's Rs 20.55 crore represented a 7.6 per cent decline from Saturday, the film remained above the Rs 20-crore mark for the second consecutive day.The three-day India nett total stands at Rs 58.15 crore, while its India gross collection has reached Rs 67.22 crore. The overseas market has contributed Rs 43 crore, taking the film's worldwide gross to Rs 110.22 crore. The Tamil version registered 57.58 per cent overall occupancy. Morning shows recorded 38.15 per cent occupancy, which rose to 65.77 per cent in the afternoon. Evening shows registered 64.69 per cent, while night shows recorded 56.31 per cent occupancy.The Telugu version performed even better, recording 72.86 per cent overall occupancy. Morning shows registered 56.67 per cent, while afternoon shows reached 79.58 per cent. Evening and night shows recorded 67.75 per cent and 66.92 per cent occupancy, respectively. Regional markets contribute to the totalTamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh-Telangana emerged as key contributors to the film's Day 3 performance. Both regions recorded an estimated Rs 9.50 crore gross in India.Karnataka contributed Rs 2.90 crore, while Kerala added Rs 1.50 crore.
