Virudhunagar DVAC unit invites complaints from public on bribery in government offices

The new Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), of Virudhunagar district, M. Ramachandran, has sought complaints from members of the public regarding demands for bribes by officials and employees in various State government offices.In a statement, Mr. Ramachandran said that people can contact him at 94982-15697 and alert him about irregularities in government offices.They can also complain about government officials demanding bribes in cash or kind, directly or indirectly through middlemen.People can lodge a complaint in person by visiting the DVAC office located behind the Old District Collector’s Office or by phone at 94981-06118, 83000-36678, or 04562-252678.The DSP said that the identity of the complainant would be kept confidential.The DSP added that besides taking suitable action on complaints of bribery, the DVAC office would also take steps to resolve the issues for which government employees were approached, within the legal framework.Complaints by govt. officialsThe DSP said that government officials and employees can lodge complaints if they come under any pressure from private individuals to carry out any work in exchange for a bribe.“Those officials can lodge the complaint without the need to seek permission from their office heads,” he added.Complaints can also be sent to the email address: dspvnrdvac.tnpol@nic.in.
