Viral footballer who plummeted down hole while celebrating reveals romantic reason he jumped over barrier

BRAZILIAN star Jacy has revealed that he wanted to celebrate scoring with his pregnant wife, only to fall down a pitchside hole. In a clip that subsequently went mega-viral, the Coritiba skipper vaulted the advertising board only to plummet into an abyss. Explaining what happened, he said: “I scored the goal and wanted to celebrate with my wife because she’s pregnant. “But then I remembered it was my first goal at Couto Pereira stadium, and I also wanted to celebrate with the fans, but I hadn’t remembered there was a moat there.” Jacy disappeared down a chute which leads to the dressing rooms at Estadio Couto Pereira. Ordinarily the tunnel is covered, but it had been opened by ground staff with half-time looming. Jacy added: “I twisted my foot there. It’s a bit sore, but I’m fine.
