The guilt is too much (Picture: ITV) Oh Vinny. Vinny, Vinny, Vinny. From loveable rogue to killer in the length of a Spice Girls song. The simple act of driving along an Emmerdale country lane while belting out Two Become One as he answered a video call to a self-pitying Gabby (Rosie Bentham) sealed Vinny’s fate as the village’s latest killer. Vinny (Bradley Johnson) didn’t even realise at first what he’d done, though it didn’t take long for reality to sink in when he heard that Jimmy (Nick Miles) had been run off the road and his accident ultimately also killed Dawn (Olivia Bromley). What’s worse is that the bumbling cowardly Dingle has mostly kept it all to himself, except for telling Kev (Chris Coghill). Vinny trusts Kev implicitly, largely because he’s got no choice. Actor Bradley Johnson said of their relationship: ‘Obviously with Kev’s background, we’ve seen Vinny help Kev cover up the whole thing with Billy and the CCTV, it’s like ‘I’ll scratch your back, your scratch mine and we’ll look out for each other. He’s been through that prison life and he’s got a bit of a criminality behind him. I think he thinks he can trust Kev, or he hopes he can.’ But can Kev trust Vinny? Vinny’s already nearly cracked once, and now, as the pressure gets to him he tells Kev he needs to come clean, though the Dales’ answer to Mary Berry tries to silence him. Kev tells Vinny he expects him to go ahead with his plan to marry Lewis and there’s a miscommunication between them when Vinny says he intends to the right thing and Kev thinks he means the right thing by Lewis. What this means is that Vinny is able to slip away and find Nicola, and confess. Vinny was distracted while in his car, leading him almost hitting Jimmy (Picture: ITV) Ask Metro Use AI to go deeper into the stories you care about – powered by Metro and trusted publications. He tearfully regales her with how he accidentally lost control of his car and ran Jimmy off the road, leaving Nicola, for once, lost for words. The fact he was using his phone so carelessly hits her hard. Speaking of the moment Nicola learns the truth, actor Bradley reveals: ‘He starts bumbling about, stumbling over his words and ultimately, he sort of blurts it out to Nicola. I’ve just watched the scene back and Nicola Wheeler is fantastic in it. ‘Behind her eyes, is she going to beat Vinny up? Is she going to break down in tears? Is she going to have a calm conversation? I don’t think Vinny knows which one he is going to get. Ultimately, we see Nicola tell Vinny exactly what she thinks about him and the situation. It’s a really powerful scene and I think the audience will really like it.’ Armed with this information, Nicola uses it against Gabby, who has been crumbling under the guilt of her involvement and secret keeping. Nicola works it so that Gabby is forced to say a few words about Dawn, but as she struggles and stumbles over her speech, Nicola interrupts and announces to the pub that Vinny killed Dawn and Jimmy because he was on the phone to Gabby. Just start running now, Vinny (Picture: ITV) Vinny then takes himself to Home Farm and reveals the full truth to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). This in itself could prove to be a fatal move, given that Joe is laser focused on getting revenge – he buries Ruby alive in a coffin, for example, so Vinny will be next on the list. But instead of getting his hands dirty, he manipulates Billy (Jay Kontzle) into doing it. Bradley gave us the insider goss on Joe’s next move: ‘He riles Billy up and tells Billy and ultimately we see Billy beat Vinny up. He expects at least one of them to beat him up. He’s had his fair share of being beaten up, It’s awful, he’s massively guilt ridden. But ultimately, he’s doing the right thing.’ Deals of the Day Primark's new £14 co-ord has autumn styling on a budget covered An Instagram mattress left me with back pain – this one completely changed my mind Book Val d'Isère, Val Thorens and Tignes for less in Club Med's ski sale From £700 MacBooks to discounted iPhones, the best Apple tech for studentsb Save 25% on red light therapy masks, sauna blankets and sleep gadgets in Bon Charge sale Is a beating all that Vinny can expect?
