Debuting on Apple TV in August 2024, from veteran writer and producer Bill Lawrence, Bad Monkey is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Carl Hiaasen. It centers on Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), a one-time detective who can't leave his former profession behind even though he's now a restaurant inspector. It may bring to mind a classic network television crime drama, one that's led by a veteran performer and given the heightened streaming treatment. That will continue in Bad Monkey season 2, which welcomes in new faces and sees Yancy dealing with a new case. Apple TV has revealed that the popular crime dramedy will debut its second season on December 2.
