Vikings put Jamal Adams on IR, sign CB Bryce Phillips

The Vikings officially brought veteran safety/linebacker Jamal Adams’s season to an end on Monday. Adams was placed on injured reserve as a result of the knee injury he suffered in the first half of the team’s preseason opener. He played 11 snaps in the game before going down with a non-contact injury on a touchdown pass by Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart. The Vikings filled Adams’s roster spot by signing cornerback Bryce Phillips. Phillips was undrafted out of San Diego State this April. He signed with the Chiefs, but was waived when Kansas City signed defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah last week.
