A 49-year-old government school principal died after suddenly losing consciousness and collapsing while running on a treadmill at a gym in Rajasthan’s Churu district, police said.He was rushed to a government hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Other people working out at the gym immediately rush towards him and attempt to help. Within moments, several gym-goers gather around the principal, who remains unconscious on the floor.Those present at the gym subsequently arranged for him to be taken to a government hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The sudden collapse, captured on camera, has drawn attention to the incident, while news of the principal’s death has left his family, colleagues and acquaintances in deep shock.According to Assistant Sub-Inspector Dharmveer of the Sardarshahr Police Station, the incident came to light after Gaurishankar, a resident of Neemrasar and the deceased’s younger brother, filed a report with the police.In his complaint, Gaurishankar identified his elder brother as 49-year-old Birbalram Meghwal and stated that he worked as the principal of the government school in Aspalsar village. Meghwal was residing in Sardarshahr with his family.According to the family’s report, Meghwal had gone to a local fitness gym on Tuesday evening. While exercising on the treadmill, he suddenly lost consciousness and fell.A possible cardiac arrest has been cited by local residents as the suspected cause of Meghwal’s sudden death. However, the precise cause has not been officially established.Following the complaint filed by the family, police initiated the necessary proceedings and arranged for a post-mortem examination. The body was subsequently handed over to the family for the last rites.The incident has once again drawn attention to cases of people collapsing suddenly while exercising.
