The cabin eventually came to a halt just above the ground floor. However, the ordeal did not end there.14 PEOPLE TRAPPED INSIDE LIFTThe passengers remained trapped inside the lift after it stopped. They activated the emergency alarm and called for help as people outside tried to open the doors. The locked doors could not be opened despite attempts made by others in the building. With the passengers still trapped inside, police and fire officials were alerted.Firefighters reached the building and began a rescue operation using cutters and hydraulic equipment to gain access to the lift.The operation continued for nearly three hours before the rescue team managed to free all 14 passengers.The people who were brought out were visibly shaken after the ordeal.
