Video: Class 9 girl dies after electric pole falls on her in UP's Hardoi

A 14-year-old girl, Ragini, died in a tragic accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district on Sunday evening after an electric pole fell on her. The incident occurred when a DCM truck unloading goods at a grocery store allegedly became entangled with an overhead power line while reversing. As the vehicle moved forward, a roadside electric pole snapped and fell onto the road. Ragini, a Class 9 student who was passing by with a friend to buy household supplies, was struck by the falling pole and died on the spot. Her companion escaped unhurt. The accident has plunged the Bihgawan village into mourning, and a large crowd gathered at the scene after the incident. Behta Gokul police reached the spot, conducted the investigation and sent the body for post-mortem examination. SHO Markandey Singh said the matter is being investigated and legal action will follow upon receipt of a complaint. CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral.
