Its condition had deteriorated further due to continuous rain, eventually leading to the entire structure collapsing.The Moradabad Municipal Corporation had identified the building as dangerous a day before the incident. The civic body had also issued an ultimatum to the owner over the condition of the structure. As a precautionary measure, the roads surrounding the building had already been closed to public movement with the help of barricades.MUNICIPAL VIGILANCE HELPED AVERT TRAGEDYAccording to Ajit Kumar Singh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of the Moradabad Municipal Corporation, the civic body had identified the dilapidated structure in time and restricted the movement of people in the area. The precautionary measures ensured that no one was caught in the collapse, preventing any loss of life despite the three-storey building coming down suddenly.After receiving information about the collapse, a Municipal Corporation team reached the spot and began removing the debris.
