Vic Fangio: "Remains to be seen" if Jonathan Greenard practices in training camp

Published July 30, 2026 09:56 AM Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman said at a Wednesday press conference that the pec strain that landed linebacker Jonathan Greenard on the physically unable to perform list “is not a long-term injury,” but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be a matter of days before the veteran is back on the field. Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said at his own press conference on Thursday that Greenard is going to “miss a good bit of camp” as a result of the injury and that it “remains to be seen” if Greenard will get any practice time before the start of the regular season. Fangio said that the missed time is a negative because the Eagles will be asking Greenard to “do some different things” than he did with the Vikings. He complimented the work that Greenard has been doing in meetings, but noted that “it’s not the same” as the on-field work that will be missed. Greenard was ticketed for a significant role on the Eagles defense after joining the team in an offseason trade, so the hope in Philadelphia will be that he gets back early enough to prepare himself to play one this fall.
