The ex-Derbyshire Constabulary officer has been charged with misconduct offences over the claims. Tarjinderjit Nizzer is alleged to have used his position to try to form 'improper sexual or emotional' relationships with women, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said. Nizzer – who resigned in February this year – faces eight counts of misconduct in public office following an investigation by Derbyshire Constabulary's Counter Corruption Unit, under the direction of the IOPC's Anti-Corruption Unit. He allegedly contacted six members of the public and two police officers to start a sexual relationship. The sergeant was nicknamed after the film Hot Fuzz and was promoted on the Facebook page of Derbyshire Constabulary's safer neighbourhood team for Swadlincote in 2024. Nizzer was nicknamed because he had moved from investigating serious crime 'in a big city' to a neighbourhood role in the town of Swadlincote, Derbyshire. Hot Fuzz follows fictional police officer Nicholas Angel, played by Simon Pegg, who moves from London to the small town of Sandford – where he struggles to deal with the slower pace of police work. Nizzer said at the time: 'The public have been amazing towards me since I arrived, I cannot think of a single day where I have been patrolling and the public have not spoken to me or engaged – fantastic community.'The IOPC said in a statement: 'Between January 2020 and November 2024, it's alleged he contacted six members of the public and two police officers to instigate a sexual, or otherwise inappropriate, relationship.'The 57-year-old also faces one count of attempting to pervert the course of justice over the cancelling of a traffic offence report, along with a charge of computer misuse linked to an accusation he used police systems inappropriately to run checks on someone without a proper policing purpose.'Nizzer is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on October 2.
