Venom Lore's God-Tier New Symbiote Is A Former Herald Of Galactus

A Herald of Galactus returns to Marvel lore sporting his own symbiote amidst Venom's cosmic war. To be chosen as a Herald of Galactus, an individual must possess an exceptionally strong will, immense physical or mental endurance, and a willingness to traverse the cosmos in search of suitable planets for the Devourer of Worlds to consume. Galactus typically selects candidates who already have unique baseline abilities, which he then drastically amplifies by bestowing upon them a fraction of the Power Cosmic. While some are chosen for their nobility to ensure a sense of cosmic balance, others are selected for their sheer ruthlessness. The behavior and loyalty of Galactus' Heralds have varied drastically throughout Marvel history, ranging from absolute devotion to open rebellion. Noble Heralds like the Silver Surfer and Frankie Raye aka Nova initially served out of a sense of sacrifice but eventually rebelled against their master due to their lingering morality and their desire to protect innocent lives. Others, like Gabriel Lan a.k.a. Air-Walker, displayed genuine loyalty toward Galactus, with Air-Walker even sacrificing his life in his service. To avoid future betrayals from soft-hearted subordinates, Galactus occasionally employed bloodthirsty tyrants like Terrax the Tamer and Morg the Executioner. Galactus' Heralds have also met different fates after their cosmic duties. For example, the Devourer of Worlds locked up the Fallen One for his rebellion, whereas he simply dismissed Nova and Terrax, and has fought Norrin Radd several times for similar reasons. Firelord Returns With A Fireproof Symbiote Queen In Black #4; Written By Al Ewing; Art By Iban Coello, Paco Medina, And Guru-eFX Earth's defenses are firing on all cylinders to fight Hela's symbiote invasion in Queen in Black. The Avengers and the X-Men team up to contain large threats like symbiote Skrull kaijus in Italy, while the Spider-Friends fight Hela's foot soldiers in New York, and Cable and Iron Man's Defenders of Light and Dark are fighting high-ranking enemies like Tyr in outer space. In Queen in Black #4, the Fantastic Four and Nova enter the fray, and they meet new villains as soon as they arrive: the first is Firelord, former Herald of Galactus, now bonded with a fully fireproof red symbiote. Prior to this horrific transformation, Firelord roamed the spaceways as an independent cosmic protector after earning his freedom from Galactus. He has spent his most recent whereabouts largely missing from mainstream galactic conflicts, only to join the Supreme Intelligence, the Skrulls, the Kree, the Mentellenorites, and other cosmic characters in becoming Hela's cannon fodder. Firelord's parasitic being also joins a growing list of fireproof symbiotes, which includes Anti-Venom and Carnage, specifically the Red Goblin. Hela Knows Exactly What Her Greatest Weapon Is Knull Didn't Think Of Weaponizing Already Powerful Cosmic Beings The concept of bonding all available top-tier cosmic forces with symbiotes opens a gateway to unprecedented power upgrades that Knull ignored during King in Black. Besides Firelord, the Supreme Intelligence, the Chitauri, the Skrulls, the Kree, the Mentellenorites, and the Rigellian, a parasitic connection to the Hive-Mind would turn Ego the Living Planet into the most massive living, breathing mass of Klyntar void-energy. The historically passive Watchers could become omens of destruction, and the Thunder gods could wipe out entire civilizations if caught off guard by Hela's symbiotes. Historically, several of these entities have flirted with or fully succumbed to the dark influence of the living abyss. During the original King in Black invasion, Knull hijacks the bodies of ancient cosmic Celestials and uses them as puppet-gods to lay waste to the galaxy. In Godzilla: Infinity Roar, Knull himself bonds his symbiotes to characters as powerful as the Watchers and Odin, though he only does it to neutralize Marvel's powerhouses in his Garden of Crowns instead of making them his soldiers. And somewhere out there in the multiverse, Earth-14412's Ego the Living Planet bonds to All-Black the Necrosword to become Ego the Necroworld and defeat Galactus.
