Vector Architects reject “white cube” design for Aranya Art Center Guangzhou

Vector Architects have opted for a nature-integrated design for the Aranya Art Center in Guangzhou, eschewing the traditional "white cube" gallery style in favor of free-standing art galleries surrounded by gardens and plazas, with a preserved Banyan tree canopy at the center. This approach aims to create a harmonious blend of art and nature, setting a new precedent for how art centers can integrate into their natural surroundings. The project, located near Jiulong Lake, emphasizes sustainability and community engagement, highlighting a shift in architectural trends toward more environmentally conscious designs.
