Van Hollen not running for Senate majority leader, source says

Sen. Chris Van Hollen has decided not to challenge Sen. Chuck Schumer for the position of Senate majority leader, signaling a potential consolidation of Democratic leadership. This decision comes amid discussions about the direction and strategy of the party as it faces upcoming elections. Van Hollen emphasized the need for an open dialogue within the caucus to determine the best path forward, indicating a collaborative rather than competitive approach. This move could influence party dynamics and the way Democrats navigate the legislative agenda in the coming years.
