Trey Wright Overview The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Wright is a consensus three-star prospect, No. 423 overall and the No. 29 QB in the Rival Industry Ratings. USC joins an offer list that includes SMU, Clemson, TCU, Cincinnati and Missouri, UCLA and Oklahoma. Wright put up monster numbers in his first season as a starter with a nation-leading 5,826 total yards and a trip to the Class 5A UIL state championship game. He threw for 4,062 yards and rushed for another 1,798, with 59 total touchdowns. Clemson has been considered the favorites for Wright over the summer with SMU, TCU and Missouri also pushing hard. Recent QB Recruiting Trey Wright represents the first QB offer for Riley and the program since the 2026 cycle. The Trojans and Riley have not offered a signal caller in 2027 and don’t looked rush to do so. USC was flirting with several QBs in the 2028 class, including No. 1 overall prospect Jayden Wade (Georgia) and No. 2 QB Christopher Vargas, who recently committed to Ohio State. USC also hosted Top 100 prospects Daniel Tabron II and local recruit Josiah Boyd. Four-star Frankfort Heights (Ill.) signee, Elite 11 QB and freshman Jonas Williams was USC’s QB take for 2026, a summer flip against Oregon. Williams is currently projected for the No. 2 role this fall. The Trojans technically added two quarterbacks in the 2026 class with preferred walk-on Alex Medyn. The Trojans feel strongly about Medyn, one of the reasons USC isn’t scrambling to take a QB this cycle. USC football will likely need to dip into the transfer market for a QB this coming offseason. Starter Jayden Maiava will be on his way to the NFL while No. 3 Sam Huard will be out of eligibility. Williams would be the only scholarship QB for 2027 without any additions.
