Jordan Woodruff The United States recorded a 3-2 victory over Sweden on Saturday to remain unbeaten in group-stage action at the Overwatch World Cup 2026 in Busan, South Korea. Sweden started fast in its Group A contest by sandwiching a 2-0 win on Nepal and a 3-2 victory on Neon Junction around a 3-2 setback on Route 66. The United States responded with a 3-1 triumph on Aatlis and 97.83m-97.82 win on Esperanca. Sixteen national teams began round-robin play in four groups on Thursday. The group stage ends Sunday with the top two teams in each quartet advancing to the single-elimination playoffs, scheduled for Sept. 12-13 in Anaheim, Calif. All matches in the group stage are first to three wins. China breezed to a 3-0 win over Japan in another Group A contest. China notched a 2-0 victory on Nepal, 3-2 victory on Suravasa and a decisive 142.41m-0 triumph on Esperanca. Canada remained unbeaten in Group C following a 3-1 victory over Thailand. Canada posted a 2-0 win on Samoa before Thailand answered with a 4-3 triumph on Neon Junction. Canada responded with a 2-1 victory on Shambali Monastery and a 3-0 win on New Junk City. Germany notched its first win in group play with a 3-1 win over Spain. Germany got off to a fast start with 2-0 and 1-0 wins on Samoa and Neon Junction, respectively, before Spain answered with a 3-1 triumph on New Junk City. Germany ended the match with a 1-0 victory on Route 66. In Group D play, France remained unbeaten with a 3-0 win over Denmark. France posted a 2-0 victory on Samoa, 2-1 on Eichenwalde and 3-0 on New Junk City. South Korea also recorded a 3-0 win over Colombia following a 2-0 victory on Nepal, 3-0 on New Junk City and 1-0 on Shambali Monastery.
