US Open Day 3 schedule: Gauff, Zverev lead star-studded line-up

The first round of the 2026 US Open concludes on Tuesday with Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Madison Keys set to open their campaigns. Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev, Taylor Fritz and Madison Keys headline a packed Day 3 at Flushing Meadows.The second day already gave the tournament plenty to talk about. Carlos Alcaraz returned from a four-month wrist injury lay-off with a straight-sets win over Roman Safiullin, while defending champion Aryna Sabalenka also made a winning start, beating Camila Osorio 6-2, 6-4 to extend her US Open winning streak to 14 matches.Iga Swiatek was equally convincing, beating Wang Xiyu 6-2, 6-3, while last year's runner-up Amanda Anisimova marked her birthday with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Ashlyn Krueger. Both moved into the second round without dropping a set.Now the first-round spotlight shifts towards the players still waiting to enter the tournament. Arthur Ashe Stadium gets the star treatment, with Gauff, Zverev, Fritz and Keys all scheduled to play, while Elena Rybakina, Mirra Andreeva, Lorenzo Musetti, Alex de Minaur, Gael Monfils and Alexandra Eala headline the action elsewhere. GAUFF, ZVEREV LEAD THE WAYCoco Gauff comes into her home Grand Slam with some momentum behind her after a strong run through the North American hard-court swing. The 2023 US Open champion will begin her campaign against Zeynep Sonmez on Arthur Ashe Stadium, with their match scheduled for 4:30 AM IST on September 2.Gauff will be looking to make the most of another run in New York after her breakthrough title here three years ago. Sonmez, meanwhile, has the rather unenviable job of opening the tournament against one of the home crowd's biggest favourites. Alexander Zverev follows Gauff on Ashe, beginning his campaign as the men's top seed. The German arrives as the reigning Roland-Garros champion and will face Italy's Lorenzo Sonego in his opening match.Before them, Taylor Fritz will take on Darwin Blanch, while Australian Open champion Madison Keys opens the day's action against Alina Korneeva.There is plenty of heavyweight action away from Ashe as well.
