US has plans to strike Iran as early as tomorrow, report says

US Central Command has a plan to strike Iran beginning as early as Wednesday, after the US midterm elections and when three aircraft carriers are in the region, according to US officials, The New York Times reported. The window is narrow, with one carrier due to return home after early November and moonless nights offering favourable conditions for attacks, the report said. Some cabinet members want more time for sanctions and a US blockade, saying that economic pressure would eventually bring down Iran’s government. Other officials see little prospect of its collapse without further strikes, the report said.
