US firm returns with premium 16-seat jet service between New York and South Florida

An Aviation company has announced the return of BLADEone, its jet service between New York and South Florida. Blade Urban Air Mobility announced the service in partnership with Aero, the Los Angeles-based private jet airline. “Given the significant migration of New Yorkers to South Florida, as well as the increase in business travel between the two geographies, there has never been a better time to reintroduce our service,” said Rob Wiesenthal, Founder and CEO of Blade. Seasonal jet service The seasonal jet service is expected to run from November 19 through May 2, 2027, with flights between Westchester County Airport (HPN) and Palm Beach’s President Donald J. Trump International Airport (DJT) or Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF).“BLADEone sits squarely in the white space between a $1,000 first class seat and a $25,000 private jet charter,” added Wiesenthal.BLADEone flights will be operated by USAC Airways 695 (an Aero subsidiary) on Aero’s custom-designed commercial jet retrofitted with 16 single seats, each between the windows and the aisle. The aircraft will be equipped with Starlink high-speed Wi-Fi, curated amenity kits, and dining and bar service provided by Blade’s partners, and in-cabin service by the renowned SKYfx Team, according to a press release. With BLADEone, there will be no crowded commercial terminals, long security lines, or boarding groups. Passengers will enjoy the amenities and seamless nature of private jet travel at a fraction of the cost. In New York, passengers will be able to depart from Blade Lounge West on Manhattan’s West Side by helicopter and land jetside at Westchester County Airport in approximately 10 minutes, or begin their trip at Blade’s private terminal lounge at Westchester County Airport. In Miami, BLADEone will arrive at and depart from the Blade–Aero Lounge at Opa-Locka Executive Airport, and in Palm Beach, from a private terminal at Trump International Airport, as per the release. Privacy and ease of a private jet “Aero exists for travelers who want the privacy and ease of a private jet without chartering the whole aircraft,” said Ben Klein, CEO of Aero. “We’re excited to be combining forces with Blade to bring the same experience and precision we’re known for on the West Coast to the East Coast. After working together with Blade this summer on our Los Angeles to East Hampton service, BLADEone is the obvious next step, and the New York to Florida corridor is the right addition to our current network of routes out of New York.” The service is intended to provide a more streamlined travel experience, including access to private terminals rather than crowded commercial airport facilities. Passengers traveling from Manhattan can also connect to the BLADEone aircraft at Westchester County Airport by helicopter, with BLADE advertising the helicopter transfer at approximately 12 minutes.Get the latest in engineering, tech, space & science - delivered daily to your inbox.Prabhat, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, is a tech and defense journalist.
