US Congressional delegation visits Maritime Security Centre

Muscat: A delegation from the United States House of Representatives (Congress), accompanied by the Ambassador of the United States of America to the Sultanate of Oman, visited the Maritime Security Centre (MSC) on Monday. They were received by Commodore Abdullah bin Ali Al Hajri, Head of the Maritime Security Centre (MSC).The visiting delegation listened to a briefing that reviewed the competences of the Maritime Security Centre, its national roles and the tasks entrusted to it in monitoring maritime conditions and enhancing response to incidents and emergencies, in coordination with the relevant authorities, in a manner that contributes to ensuring the security and safety of maritime navigation. The delegation toured the Centre's facilities and was briefed on the equipment, technologies and systems it houses that contribute to enhancing its operational capabilities and raising the level of readiness and efficiency in carrying out the tasks and competences assigned to it.
