Urgent manhunt launched after man, 39, charged with rape fails to appear in court

A MANHUNT has been launched after a man charged with rape failed to appear in court. Mohammed Ismail has been wanted by cops since June 2. The 39-year-old was charged after the alleged attack in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, in 2024. South Yorkshire Police said: “Whereabouts of man sought following rape in Rotherham. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! “Mohammed Ismail, 39, from Birmingham, is wanted for failing to appear at court following a reported rape in Rotherham in 2024. “Officers investigated the rape and Ismail was charged, and he was due to appear in court on 2 June 2026. “Ismail failed to appear and enquiries to locate him have been ongoing. “A warrant for his arrest is now active, and we are asking for your help to find him. “Ismail is described as a Black man, around 6ft tall and of a slim build. “He is known to frequent the Rockingham Street area of Sheffield and has links to Birmingham.
